SF: RE-CYCLE!

A "little" side project for myself I started a while ago wanting to re-cycle and work down my pile of fabrics that kept getting bigger (instead of tossing outdated shirts, scarves, sweaters clinging to them and stashing them away "for later" because you never know they might come in handy for who knows what project'). So in order to work the pile down a lot I wanted to create something big. It might become a wall hanging in the end or maybe a blanket, I'm not sure yet. It is rather large and will take me a while to finish sewing by hand which is alright, there is no rush. My cat is already either admiring it (as I hope) or critiquing it...
Usually I try to keep things using them again, be it plastic tubs (handy for storage), wrapping paper or packing paper (excellent to paint on or make cards with), computer misprints (ideal note pads when cut up and turned around), flat card board (ideal surface to paint on or use as sewing boards becoming a big pin cushion), ribbons,... etc. It is an additional challenge to make do with what you have which feeds my creativity in a different way. Every now and then I do treat myself to a new piece of supply though which is inspiring, of course and makes it all the more special, too.
