SF: ARTIST'S BLOCK

early3.jpg
Fortunately it doesn't happen very often that I am blocked and run out of ideas to create. Sometimes though life hands you something that stops you dead in your tracks altogether. 98805-451391-thumbnail.jpg When that happens I drink a cup of tea, take my cat for a walk on our new patio, play with our  dog and smell my roses that are still in full bloom these days. I just wait it out and busy myself. The obstacle block will vanish over time and clear the way on its own. I try not to obsess over it. Obsessing over it or  pushing it will only make it worse. Being patient is the most difficult thing tough but then there are so many great things and so much beauty out there waiting to be explored and discovered!

My daughter would love that cat; I am allergic -- but she would love it. You will probably not be bored or unmotivated for a long time in your new place!
Perfect solution! And good advice ;)

I agree that walking and leaving it alone are very successful. There's nothing worse than trying to force it!

Thanks for hosting such a great site, and for hardly a blip during your move. Glad to hear it went so well.

So true. Panic over it doesn't help and the more pressure you put on yourself the less it vanishes.

It's so nice to read that others go with it as well, instead of fighting it and frustrating themselves further. Cute cat!
Beautiful kitty, Tine, and the roses, I can smell them from here! :)
Yeah, it's easier to go with the flow with artist block.
Hi Tine, Now thats something I understand. I think if you give in to the exploring and discovering the muse will creep up on you and there will be no stopping the flow. You have a new life to recreate so its no wonder you are battling to focus on art. Be kind to yourself and wallow in all the new and exciting experiences. What fun!

Oh I'm still hyper because I've just ordered a gorgeous kit from frenchgeneral.com, can't wait to get it and see what I can create with it! Speak soon Carol from your German neighbor city ;-) xox
