My first attempt of combined elements. I have been busy sewing and embroidering in simple stitches. And one evening while I was finishing the embroidered flower on this pink little pillow-y kind a thing (it isn't my favourite fabric because it was too thin almost, and I have a blurry vision of silk even which would be glorious...one fine day maybe, hehe) I tried different things with it. It has padding inside very thinly, too.
First came the ruby red ribbon, followed by the fuzzy red ribbon and the pale pink hanging ribbon on the top. Somehow I wasn't quite satisfied with it. It looked great but it felt like something was missing so I pushed for more adding one of my 'dots' on the top, oh and the small 'Sparkle Birds' I had made, too. It started to look better. The birds didn't look right on top of the fabric and one bird looked a little lonely so I gave him a mate and put them underneath. Add a few beads and golden jewelry leaves and it started to feel right. The dot on top looked like there was something missing, it looked a little 'naked'. Adding more colour to it with sewing my ribbon around it and tiny beads! A bit more gold was missing still and I added the two golden painted hearts cut from paper. - It was done and it felt complete.
I am still unsure about the name of it other than that it is a 'wall hanging' and 'textile art'? Let me know if you have any ideas? The world of the textile arts is completely new ground for me.
Funny how sometimes the creative flow shows up unannounced and before you know it you are in that zone (fortunately hubby had some things of his own to do, hehe) and it feels almost like a dance somehow. Your feet move with such an ease over the dancefloor and you are under a spell and have to keep on dancing til the last note of the song.
