SF: CONTRAST.
I am continuing my little mix and match challenge for myself to find a way to mix my different design elements and combine them into one...somehow. They are all standing in contrast to each other with their materials, colours, patterns, textures. I am enjoying the process a lot.
The image above is a side product actually that found itself on my desk amongst beads, papers, branches, feathers, dried flowers and fabric swatches ( another contrast in itslef how my studio is a state of chaos but the pieces I create are very often in a big contrast and very calm and serene) while I was sewing away on a much more complex piece which is the actual main piece.
So this little thing above is a piece of junk I was about to throw out. But I stopped myself and tried a few things with it first that I took photos of. Sometimes along the line I take a quick photo of different scenarios and when I look at them on the Mac I see them in a different light, see which one works best and let my intuition guide me.
This little thing above all of a sudden made 'click' somehow and inspired me on a whole other level altogether while I had it open in Photoshop. Such an amazing thing. Funny how a little piece that gets overlooked and shoveled to the sidelines and becomes 'junk' suddenly rise above and becomes a treasure. What a contrast! I haven't thrown it out. I decided to hang on to it a little longer for some more inspiration. I have always enjoyed the simple things but as always those are the toughest to create. Very often I tend to think way too complicated and choose a more difficult path than is necessary (in German we call such a person an 'Umstandskraemer').
Life is all about appreciating the simple things in life. So simple!
Thanks for stopping by!!

I had not noticed before how your entries build upon the last one; that is fascinating.
It is amazing how looking on a mac brings an image into perspective on whether or not it is 'finished' I find that this is very effective - in particular with watercolors to tell me what it is lacking and needs to be improved upon.

(PS: I don't know if it's just my screen but I'm finding your entries are stretching over the right hand column... could just be me but I just wanted to give the heads up!)
